Peacock Parasol

I’ve used acrylic metallic paint on a white reclaimed parasol. The deep blues and teal feathers are contrasted by warm copper, rouge, orange and gold tones, displaying the beautiful designs on the peacocks feathers & body. I thought what could be more fitting for the tip of the umbrella than to make it into the beak, on a soft serene face. There is also a light dusting of silver around the edges (the tips of the feathers). I left the original ruffle along the outer edge of the parasol to give it a re-purposed shabby chic look.
