Sunset from Clouds

I saw this in real life from a plane, on my way back to New York from NC. It was mid August (I feel like that somehow makes a difference, the look of heat in the sky?) The plane was in between cloud layers, and the sun was setting directly horizontal of me. It was powerful, strange and hard to explain in words.

I’ve used bright vibrant contrasting colors that match my excitement and surprise witnessing a rare moment. The dark clouds below are in deep blues and purples, with green, teal and gold around a fiery yellow, orange and red setting sun. The warm yellow rays shine over the clouds speckling them with bits of gold. The clouds have varying deep blue and purple shadows, with warm rose and cool green undertones.
