The mountaintop of the farm I grew up on at sunset. The peek ridges with a row of pines where the sun sets behind each evening, blanketing the hillside in hazy lavender. I wanted to make something that represented my childhood and my roots, this is what came to mind.

I’ve used varying shades of purples, violates and blue-greens in this painting. There are yellows and golds in the sunset, and a background sky in teal and blue with soft pink highlights. The swaying tall grass is in violate, lavender, teal and pink with a sun-kissed path of gold light shimmering through the trees. The dark pines are sharply contrasting the setting sun in shades of deep purple, indigo and pinks, while both the trees and clouds have warm rose undertones.
